Teams integration

This guide walks you through setting up Microsoft Teams notifications for Code Cube's Tag Monitor and DataLayer Guard to receive real-time alerts for errors and volume warnings directly in your Teams channel.

What will you do?

  • Access the configuration portal for your monitoring tool
  • Create an incoming webhook in your Teams channel
  • Configure Teams notifications with the webhook URL
  • Test the integration to ensure notifications work properly

Estimated time: 10 - 15 minutes

🔧 Requirements: Access to Code Cube portal, Microsoft Teams admin permissions, and an existing Teams channel

Implementation

  • Step 1 – Access configuration page
  • Step 2 – Create Teams webhook
  • Step 3 – Configure Teams notifications
  • Step 4 – Test the integration

Step 1 – Access configuration page

Choose the appropriate configuration page based on which monitoring tool you want to set up Teams notifications for. You can configure Teams notifications for both Tag Monitor and DataLayer Guard by following these steps separately on each product's configuration page.

For Tag Monitor

  • Go to the Tag Monitor configuration page
  • Navigate to the 'Teams notifications' step

For DataLayer Guard

  • Go to the DataLayer Guard configuration page
  • Navigate to the 'Teams notifications' step

Step 2 – Create Teams webhook

Before configuring notifications in Code Cube, you need to create an incoming webhook in your Microsoft Teams channel.

2.1 Access your Teams channel

Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the specific channel where you want to receive Code Cube notifications. This could be a dedicated monitoring channel or an existing team channel where alerts would be most useful.

2.2 Create the webhook

Follow Microsoft's official guide to create an incoming webhook for your Teams channel. You can find the complete step-by-step instructions at Microsoft's webhook documentation. During this process, you'll generate a unique webhook URL that Code Cube will use to send notifications to your channel.

Important: Make sure to copy and save the webhook URL that's generated during this process. You'll need this URL for the next step, and it cannot be retrieved again once the setup window is closed.

Step 3 – Configure Teams notifications

Return to the Code Cube portal to configure Teams notifications using your newly created webhook.

3.1 Enable notifications

Start by toggling the 'Enable notifications' switch at the top of the configuration page. This will activate Teams notifications and reveal the configuration field needed to connect your Teams channel.

3.2 Configure webhook URL and channel name

Paste the webhook URL you copied from Teams into the designated field. This URL tells Code Cube exactly where to send notifications within your Teams workspace. Make sure the URL is complete and hasn't been truncated when copying.

Also copy the name of the Teams channel where you would like to receive your notifications. Make sure the channel name is an exact match of the name in Teams.

3.3 Save configuration

Once you've entered the webhook URL, save your configuration settings. The system will validate the webhook URL format to ensure it's properly formatted for Teams integration.
